A fantastic review of my latest album, penned by esteemed critic Dionizy Piątkowski, has just been published on Era Jazzu (jazz.pl), which is a well-respected portal introducing music lovers to the most fascinating releases.
In his text, the author beautifully captures the essence of the album I recorded with Kenny Broberg, noting that our work is a unique tribute to the underappreciated genius of Leopold Godowsky. Piątkowski highlights our chamber music synergy and how we strive to bring out the pure beauty and captivating colors of these rarely performed transcriptions.
He also points out the stylistic richness of these miniatures. While they may not be as overwhelmingly demanding as Godowsky’s solo piano works, they present their own unique challenges. The reviewer beautifully noted the echoes of Chopin, the inspirations of the waltz, and even a hint of Oriental nostalgia within the pieces. It is an immense honor that Piątkowski appreciated not only our virtuosity but, above all, the deep aesthetic and purely musical dimension of these compositions.
