biography

She was born in 1999 in Legnica and started learning to play the violin at the age of 7, under the tutelage of her parents, Konrad and Alicja Dragan.

She attends the Secondary Music School in Legnica and at the same time she is a student of the famous Prof. Zakahr Bron in his elite class (Meisterklasse Interlaken) at the Zakhar Bron Academy in Interlaken (Switzerland). Since October 2017 Sara has been studying at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid, also in the class prof. Zakhar Bron.

The exceptional young violinist had the pleasure of playing instruments of the best and the highest quality made by Andrea Guarneri, Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume and Nicolo Gagliano.
She participated aslo in many master classes, where she improved her skills under the supervision of prof. Jadwiga Kaliszewska, prof. Bartosz Bryla, prof. Yuri Volgina, Stefan Tarara, Agata Szymczewska, Mariusz Patyry, prof. Zakhar's Harrow.

Despite her young age, Sara won first place / Grand Prix of about 50 violin competitions in Europe and the USA and has already played hundreds of concerts as a soloist. She performed solo with such orchestras as: the BVG Orchester Berlin, the International Russian Rotary Children's Music Competition in Moscow, the Wrocław Philharmonic, the Sudety Philharmonic, the Opole Philharmonic, the Warmian-Masurian Philharmonic, the Lower Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Academy of Arts in Szczecin, the Legnica Symphony Orchestra and many other with chamber ensembles as well. 

Sara made her debut at the age of 11 at the end of the first grade, playing Henryk Wieniawski's Obertas with the orchestra,.
At the age of 12 she played I Concerto in D-dur by Niccolo Paganini (with the term of E. Sauret) and Carmen Fantasie by F.Waxman with the accompaniment of the Opole Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Piotr Borkowski. At age 15, she made her United States debut at Carnegie Hall (NYC) where she played Henryk Wieniawski's Concerto in F-Minor, and The Last Rose of Summer W. Ernst. 

As a soloist, she gave concerts at The Berlin Philharmonic, Rachmaninov Concert Hall at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, Marcel Landowski's auditorium at the Paris Conservatory, the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin, Polish Royal Palace in Warsaw, Palace On The Water In Royal Baths Park Of Warsaw, Carnegie Hall in New York. She played in most Polish Philharmonic Halls throughout Europe and the United States. 

Sara Dragan has performed at many prestigious festivals all over the world among those are Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Summer Academy Mozarteum in Salzburg, Henryk Wieniawski Festival in Szczawno Zdrój and the EMANACJE Festival at Krzysztof Penderecki European Music Center for Music in Luslawice.

Sarah is also a laureate of many scholarship programs. For her outstandingartistic achievements she received twice a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and the National Heritage also she is a laureate of the scholarship program of the Ministry of Culture and the National Heritage "Young Poland" (2013).

Miss Dragan is a multiple grantee of the National Fund for Gifted Children in Warsaw and also a scholarship recipient of the President of Legnica. In addition to all this being also a laureate of the "zDolny Śląsk" Scholarship Contest and Soroptimist International Scholar in Wrocław and Interlaken.
 

Sara engages herself in many charity events by performing among others during ballgames for gifted young people and promotion of talented children in Hof, Germany as well as taking part in charity auctions for children with Down's syndrome.
